RED SOFT and "Parus Electro" conducted compatibility tests for their products within the framework of the partnership. The developers have confirmed the correctness of the joint operation of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) under the brand name "Svyaz engineering" and the RED OS operating system (produced by RED SOFT) when using nut packages.
UPSs under the "Svyaz Engineering" brand name are built on a double conversion technology that provides reliable power supply and uninterrupted operation of servers, data processing centers (DPC), telecommunications and communication systems, as well as other mission critical equipment. The UPS model range spans 1 to 1560 kVA capacity for a single device, including versions for installation in 19" rack, industrial and modular fault tolerant systems.
RED OS is a Russian Linux family operating system for servers and workstations, that provides a universal environment for application software. The product is certified by the FSTEC of Russia (№4060 of 12.01.2019), that confirms its compliance with information security requirements and allows its use in government information systems. RED OS is registered in the Unified Register of Russian Software and Databases of the Ministry of Communications of Russia (No.3751).
The nut packages required for joint operation of the OS and UPS are available in the RED OS repository. They allow to monitor the status of power supply to the system, determine the accident in the power mains and at low battery level of the UPS to perform shutdown or hibernation of the OS. The use of built-in OS tools eliminates data loss or system damage in case of power supply failure.
"Joint work of domestic manufacturers to create software and hardware solutions is an important step to optimize the costs of our customers for the deployment of infrastructure and the creation of vendor-independent systems to protect against sanctions risks", - Vladimir Khlebnikov, "Parus Electro" CEO, commented.
"Ensuring safe and uninterrupted work in the DPC and for servers running RED OS is one of the priority tasks for us as a developer. Confirming the correctness of "Svyaz Engineering" UPS work with our operating system is an important step in this direction. We thank our colleagues from "Parus Electro" for fruitful cooperation", - Rustam Rustamov, Deputy RED SOFT CEO, noted.
