AERODISK, a Russian developer and manufacturer of innovative solutions in storage and virtualization industry, and RED SOFT, manufacturer and copyright holder of the RED OS operating system, have confirmed compatibility of their products.
Based on test results the full compatibility of the AERODISK ENGINE and AERODISK VOSTOK lines of data storage systems as well as of the AERODISK vAIR and AERODISK AIST virtualization systems with the RED OS has been confirmed.
RED OS is a Russian Linux family operating system for servers and workstations, which provides a universal environment for the use of application software. The product is certified by FSTEC of Russia (No. 4060 dated January 12, 2019), which confirms its compliance with information security requirements and allows its use in government information systems. RED OS is registered in the Unified Register of Russian Software and Databases (No. 3751).
AERODISK storage systems are storage systems developed in Russia that are based either on CPUs of standard architecture (AERODISK ENGINE) or on Elbrus processors (AERODISK VOSTOK). Both product lines run on AERODISK A-Core software ("smart" auto-snapshots, replication, "thin volumes", application profiles, file and block access, compression and deduplication). All software components of Aerodisk solutions are also registered in the Unified Register of Russian Software and Databases (#8787).
"Successful completion of the project will help us jointly solve customers' tasks of switching to domestic certified operating systems from other Linux systems and moving away from the Windows family of operating systems. In addition, the compatibility of our products with RED OS will also ensure easy migration from proprietary hypervisors (VMware, Microsoft, etc.) to domestic solutions", Vyacheslav Volodkovich, Aerodisk CEO, commented.
"Implementation of domestic operating systems, data storage systems (DSS) and virtualization of various IT infrastructure components are important tasks in the CII digitalization process. Our joint solution with Aerodisk will allow customers from the most important for the state industries not only to reduce the cost of IT infrastructure maintenance, but also to protect data", Rustam Rustamov, Deputy RED SOFT CEO, comments.
