In November 2018, the Expert Council on Russian Software at the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications turned to Autonomous noncommercial organization (ANO) "Competence Center for Import Substitution in the Field of ICT" (TsKIT) with a recommendation to analyze software, listed in the Register by class "Operating Systems", for the use of foreign components (CentOS and others), paying particular attention to the location of the repository and the availability of a service center in the Russian Federation. Following the recommendations, TsKIT conducted an audit of the RED OS operating system manufactured by RED SOFT.
RED OS is a multi-user, multi-tasking operating system for servers and workstations, providing a universal environment for the applications. The product is registered in the Unified Register of Russian Software and Databases of the Ministry of Communications of Russia (No. 3751) and ceriified by FSTEC of Russia (cert. №4060 dated 12.01.2019). The certification was carried out by an independent testing laboratory accredited by the FSTEC of Russia and confirmed that the complete stack of the source code from which the OS RED product is being assembled and the resulting OS RED package repositories are located on servers in the RED SOFT controlled area in the Russian Federation.
The “ANO Competence Center for Import Substitution in the field of ICT” conducted an inspection of the RED OS operating system for the use of foreign components, in the course of which RED SOFT revealed all the necessary information: about the components of the product, location of the repository, availability of the service center in Russia. According to the results, TsKIT confirms the compliance of the RED OS with the requirements for domestic software", Ilya Massuh, director of the non-commercial organization Competence Center for Import Substitution in rhe field of ICT, commented.
“The company has all the necessary tools to upgrade the operating system, including infrastructure and a staff of specialists. Source codes are fully controlled by our developers. In its activities, RED SOFT is strictly guided by the requirements and recommendations of regulators.”, Rustam Rustamov, Deputy RED SOFT CEO, added.
