The static code analysis tool Solar appScreener developed by Rostelecom-Solar has successfully passed testing for compatibility with RED OS, the operating system based on the Linux kernel. Correct operation is confirmed by a bilateral certificate.
Solar appScreener and RED OS are certified by FSTEC of Russia and included in the Unified Register of Russian Software and Databases, which confirms their compliance with information security requirements and admits their use in government information systems.
Solar appScreener is an application security analyzer that effectively detects vulnerabilities and undeclared functionality by statically analyzing not only the source code, but also executable files. It is the only SAST-tool supporting 36 programming languages and binary static analysis (9 executable file extensions).
RED OS is a Russian Linux family operating system for servers and workstations providing a universal environment for the use of application software. RED OS is registered in the Unified Register of Russian Software and Databases of the Ministry of Communications of Russia (No. 3751).
"Import substitution is one of the priority national tasks. The state stimulates the development of Russian information technologies, supporting the transition of state structures and state-owned companies to domestic developments. One of Rostelecom-Solar's tasks as a participant of the Russian IT market is to help organizations make a smooth and safe transition to domestic software. Technological partnership with the developers of domestic operating systems is an important step in this direction for us", notes Daniil Chernov, Director of Solar appScrener Center at Rostelecom-Solar.
"Creating an independent IT infrastructure is the main task of the IT market. It is up to IT professionals to develop a secure ecosystem, ensuring that the stacks being deployed are fully functional. For us, being a developer of the RED OS, full functionality means that our product meets our customers' needs, including compatibility with specialized software such as Solar appScreener. We would like to thank our partners for their cooperation", Rustam Rustamov, Deputy RED SOFT CEO, said.
